In tests conducted by the American Bureau of Shipping in a sand bottom with a five to one scope. The pull was stopped at 3,000 pounds for fear of breaking the shackle. They continued with test, with a larger shackle and 3-strand, twisted 5/8″ nylon rope. Although the rope had an 11,000 lb breaking strength, it broke! The boat anchor was retrieved undamaged.

In soft mud the XYZ boat anchor set and held at 400 pounds in the ABS test. This is equivalent to the holding of the Delta anchor, which is 3x heavier than the XYZ boat anchor. XYZ relies on its artificial intelligence and fluid dynamic design to wedge itself deeper and stay upright. Shackle, cable wire and chain not included.
